Replied by Jim Wright on topic grainthope and covenham
The green sandpiper is a good ‘un, Terry.
In times gone by, I seem to recall there was generally algae at the water’s edge, but I no longer see it.
This makes me wonder if it is chemically removed by Anglian Water.
Would algae removal spell fewer insects and thus less food for small waders such as stints?
Or am I spouting nonsense?
