Highlight of an evening walk today were two spoonbills flying south-west low over Cleethorpes saltmarsh at 6pm. It's the first time I have seen the species a) on the patch and b) on the wing.

At 7pm (high tide) , a flock of 30 grey plover  and up to 10 dunlin, performed aeronautics before settling on the sandbank roost on the outer beach.

I managed a snap, but was too far away to capture the full splendour of the plovers' breeding plumage.
