Two wheatears were taking advantage of wartime gun placement on Humberston-Tetney sea bank as a perching point this morning.

On nearby windfarm mitigation field, c 30 curlew were feeding.

Highlights on Tetney Trail from Tetney to Humberston included 2 singing blackcaps and a swallow, plus up to 5 singing chiffchaffs (plus 2 brimstone butterflies, 1 hare and 1 stoat-weasel).

Around Tetney outfall sluice, there were c130 Brent geese feeding in a field until spooked into flight by an approaching helicopter.

They flew off to the saltmarsh.

There were also 12 redshank, 4 oystercatchers, 5 teal and 6 shelduck, plus a singing corn bunting and a short-eared owl.

No sign, alas, of the Cleethorpes Alpine swift at 9.30 or 1.30.
