Weather: Sun, cool (9C), N breeze
Time on site: 14:30-16:40

An afternoon visit to site found the following present:

Avocet    11 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Black-headed Gull    6 - two on the lagoon and four on the "Field" scrapes
Buzzard    2 - both soaring over the wood behind the site
Carrion Crow    3
Chiffchaff    1 - one heard singing from the hedge row bordering the "Field" scrapes area
Common Sandpiper    1 - seen feeding along the lagoon shoreline
Curlew    18 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon before flying onto the "Field" scrapes
Gadwall    6 - four on the "Field" scrapes and two on the lagoon
Goldfinch    1
Green Sandpiper    1 - seen feeding on the "Pylon" scrapes
Greylag Goose    10 - all on the "Field" scrapes
Herring Gull    2
Lapwing    12 - seven on the "Field" scrapes and five of the "Pylon" scrapes
Lesser Black-backed Gull    1
Linnet    28
Little Ringed Plover    5 - all seen in the "Pylon" scrapes area of the site
Mallard    9 - six on the "Field" scrapes and three on the "Pylon" scrapes
Mute Swan    5 - two on the "Field" scrapes and three on the lagoon
Oystercatcher    2 - a pair seen on one of the islands in the lagoon
Pied Wagtail    7
Pink-footed Goose    1 - single bird on the "Field" scrapes
Reed Bunting    1 - perched on the fence alongside the footpath to the hide
Robin    1
Shelduck    24 - two on the "Field" scrapes, three on the "Pylon" scrapes and nineteen on the lagoon
Shoveler    21 - sixteen on the "Field" scrapes and five on the "Pylon" scrapes
Skylark    2
Stock Dove    1
Teal    14 - four on the "Field" scrapes and ten on the "Pylon" scrapes
Tufted Duck    4 - two pairs on the lagoon
Wigeon    9 - four on the "Field" scrapes and five on the "Pylon" scrapes
Roe Deer    7 - herd seen in the "Field" scrapes area of the site.

Weather: Sun, overcast and rain showers, cold, NE wind
Time on site: 13:20-15:50

It was nice to bump into Nick Coubeck on site, who spotted a pair of Peregrines perched on the Stallingborough Power Station chimneys. We were lucky enough to witness the pair mating and hopefully they will be successful in raising chicks this year!

Recorded whilst on site:

Avocet    12 - all on islands in the lagoon. 
Black-headed Gull    37 - all on the "Pylon" scrapes
Buzzard    3 - seen soaring over the wood adjacent to the site
Carrion Crow    2
Common Gull    4 - all on the "Pylon" scrapes
Common Sandpiper    1 - feeding on one of the islands in the lagoon
Cormorant    4 - all on one of the islands in the lagoon
Curlew    23 - flock flew onto site and proceeded to feed on the bank of the lagoon
Gadwall    10 - all on the "Field" scrapes
Green Sandpiper    2 - one on the "Pylon" scrapes and one on the "Field" scrapes
Grey Heron    1 - seen on the "Field" scrapes
Greylag Goose    16 - eight on the "Field" scrapes, three on the "Pylon" scrapes and four on the lagoon
Herring Gull    9 - two on the "Field" scrapes and seven on the "Pylon" scrapes 
Lapwing    27 - twelve on the "Field" scrapes and fifteen on the "Pylon" scrapes
Lesser Black-backed Gull    3 - all on the "Field" scrapes
Linnet    10 - flock seen feeding on one of the islands in the lagoon
Long-tailed Tit    1 -  feeding in bushes next to the car parking area
Mallard    8 - two on the "Field" scrapes and six on the "Pylon" scrapes
Meadow Pipit    4 - all seen on one of the islands in the lagoon
Mute Swan    5 - four on the lagoon and a single bird on the "Field" scrapes
Peregrine    2 - a pair seen on the Power Station chimneys. The birds were witnessed mating.
Pied Wagtail    4
Pink-footed Goose    3 - one on the lagoon and two on the "Hide" scrapes
Shelduck    23 - eighteen on the "Field" scrapes, two on the "Pylon" scrapes and three on the lagoon
Shoveler    18 - all on the "Field" scrapes
Sparrowhawk    1 - seen flying low over the site
Starling    10 
Teal    15 - six on the "Field" scrapes and nine on the "Pylon" scrapes
Tufted Duck    4 - all seen on the lagoon
Wigeon    6 - all on the "Field" scrapes

Roe Deer    4 - a Stag and three Does seen on the "Hide" scrapes area of site.
