I couldn't find the Purple Sandpiper this morning, but the tide line was well out so I assume it would be further out.
Did manage a nice Stonechat behind the Boating lake though.

Along with Julie Harrison, I watched purple sandpiper this afternoon as it was perched on the only breakwater between the new lifeboation station construction project and the pier.

It was present at least between  2.30-3.45pm (ie around high tide) and apparently unconcerned  by nearby dog walkers.

Good perseverance and thanks for posting those pix, Rob. I suppose there may be more than one purple sandpiper in and around Cleethorpes at the moment. I have been trying to compare your bird with the one photographed by Phil to see if they are the same.

Having failed to find the Purple Sandpiper on saturday, among 190 Turnstones roosting on the groyne opposite Scoops, we went back for high tide today, only about 50 Turnstones on that groyne today, but still no Sandpiper, we walked along to the breakwater and found two more Turnstones and at last the Purple Sandpiper too, on the first groyne South of the rocks. You will be glad to hear Jim that it appeared quite happy on two legs walking along the groyne.
