Well-camouflaged rock pipit on Cleethorpe rock armour whale's tail this morning, but only for a minute or so.

There were plenty of shorebirds on the beach outside the railway station - terns, bar-tailed, godwits and turnstones.

At Pyewipe, there a few golden plover feeding on the mudflats, but the star spectacle (at 12.50pm) was some skua  v tern/gull action over the Humber. I'm not certain but I think the two skuas were Arctics.

Over at Novartis Ings, there were at least 10 ruff, c 50 black-tailed godwits, a few teal and a little grebe. Also a marsh harrier flew over the nearby post-harvest cereal field.
