Winters Pond, East Halton. June 4th, 15:00 - 16:00  cloudy, cold NE wind.
After seeing only a few Swifts and Swallows so far this year, amazing to see an Incredible number of Swifts, Swallows and House Martins over water and hedgerows.
Swifts by far the dominant in number. Few House Martins. Hesitate to try and estimate, but in the hundreds, brilliant sight!
Others of note:-
Grey Lag Geese  150+  very few young
Shoveler 2 (m&f)
Mallard 20+  some with young
 Chaffinch 2
Mute Swan 2 (no cygnets)
Great Crested Grebe 1  (no sign of young or partner)
L W Egret
Coot 2
Cormorant 1
Chiffchaff 1

Kestrel near roundabout at Top Rd, North Killingholme

Best day for a while, despite having to dress in trousers and windproof to prevent sunburn!
