At 9am today, a wheatear was on a horse paddock at the top of South Sea Lane in company with two mistle thrushes, three blackbirds, two goldfinches and six woodpigeons.

A minute or two later, a single swallow was skimming over a nearby field of emerging cereal crop.

In Cleethorpes country park, two jays were perched high in trees until they were chased away by magpies.
