Walked c 2.5 km of main salt marsh and also  part of old shingle ridge early this morning 
sightings included

snipe 64, Jack snipe 2, water pipit 1, snow buntings 8, cormorant 74.

the walk was specifically to count snipe , and this is the highest total I’ve counted over the past 45 years with one group of 37 flushed
and certain I didn’t,t double count. Previous highest count c 15 years ago at c 50 when I completed the monthly WeBS now done by 
Peter Roworth.
