The large flock of Fieldfares (c200) and Redwings (c 30) that have resided on Rippingale Fen seem to have left. The Lapwings and Golden Plover moved on earlier - from the huge numbers at Frampton Marsh last week, I would guess that is where they went.
Noticeable today was a string of  5 Jays all flying north. 4 Teal, 2 Mallard and 2 Grey Herons on the Car Dyke, Dunsby Fen. Also 8 Bramblings with Chaffinches and 4 Yellowhammers there. Rippingale Fen hosted a flock of at least 150 chaffinches with a few Yellowhammers in a rape field. 12 Tree Sparrows and 11 Yellowhammers were visiting a pheasant feeder also in Rippingale Fen. 2 each of Red Kites, Buzzards and Kestrels patrolled the general area.
Rregards to all.
