Thanks Phil. I think it’s probably a European golden. For it to be an American, I’m told it would needed darker underparts, a better defined supercilliary and a longer tail.

I still haven't made my mind up about the ID on this plover watched on Cleethorpes beach at 2.30pm today. It was one of those shorebirds that seemed to change its plumage and shape every 20 seconds.
