A strong, blustery wind and low bright sun weren't ideal for birding at the reservoir mid-morning today, but ducks bobbing about on the choppy water included pintail, mallard, tufted duck, pochard, goldeneye, wigeon, goosander and gadwall.
Also conspicuous were  great crested grebe, little grebe, cormorants and grey lag geese, but I didn't see any examples of the scarcer gulls.
Wader-wise, there were two redshank.
Best of the rest was a handsome grey wagtail.
