I missed your  two purple sandpipers, Alan.

These were what I was looking for at the whale's tail rock armour at 9am today but couldn't pick any out. My excuse is that I was struggling a bit gazing into the low sun.

I saw PS's there last autumn and winter, always with turnstones (but keeping their  distance).

It's a decent  bit of high tide habitat for both waders and gulls (and cormorants).  

Incidentally, what's the definitive  ID on this one that joined the party? I'm opting for dunlin but more than happy to be contradicted.
