Replied by Jim Wright on topic Tetney Lock sightings
Mid-afternoon sightings at Tetney outfall sluice included greenshank, 6 common sandpiper (one had a black eye and looked as if it  had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson) and 10 redshank. Earlier this week, there both green and wood sandpiper but I saw none today. There was also one sand martin (on ground) and a juvenile cuckoo parked up for a few seconds.

Decent selection of birds at Tetney Lock this morning included one corn bunting and two yellowhammers, both manfully singing into the wind, a yellow wagtail squeaking and a smattering of swifts and swallows overhead. There was also a marsh  harrier quartering a wheat field opposite the alpaca farm plus, on the canal,  a tufted duck with three very young ducklings.Highlight at the outfall sluice were at least 10 redshank, up to 10 common sandpipers plus an unusually confiding wood sandpiper.
