This year LBC will be taking a stand at Spurn Migfest to sell our publications including Birds of Lincolnshire, The Lincolnshire Bird Atlas and our 2019 Bird Report. The event runs from 6pm on a Friday evening through to 4pm Sunday and in the absence of the Rutland Bird Fair which has been cancelled for its second year, Migfest is being billed as the biggest social gathering of birders in Britain this year. The headline speaker is renowned Irish birder Killian Mullarney. The full programme of speakers and events can be viewed here: Spurn Migfest 2021 Programme . Hopefully some good birds will drop in as they pass onto Lincolnshire, quite possibly sadly never to be seen again! If you plan to visit, please drop by at the LBC stand and say hello. Even better than that if you are able to provide some voluntary cover at anytime during the weekend please contact me on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..We will be raffling a copy of the limited edition print of Nik Borrow’s Pallas’s Sandgrouse painting that provided the acclaimed cover for Birds of Lincolnshire. All proceeds will go towards funding a unique memorial to the late Steve Keightley who passed away earlier this year.  This will take the form of a former Wash navigation buoy that will be positioned on the RSPB Frampton side of the mouth of the Witham opposite the Cut End hide which will be adapted to provide sheltered viewing for sea watching from the bank. There will be an opportunity for members not visiting Migfest to buy raffle tickets electronically through the website and we will publicise that as soon as the webpage is modified to do it.All participants will be allocated a row in a spreadsheet and on the afternoon of Sunday 12th September a draw will be made using a random number generator to determine the winner.
