All the tits in Callans Lane Wood

A rainy walk in Callans Lane Wood today revealed a very large feeding flock including all of the counties tit species. I counted well over 20 Long-tailed Tits, 14 Blue Tits and smaller numbers of the other species. The highlights though were 4 Marsh Tits and one Willow Tit; the first Willow Tit that I have seen in the local woods for a few years. When seen together it is amazing how different these two very similar species can look. Other notable species included 2 Ravens, 12 Lesser Redpolls and 4 Siskins.
