The two groups were constantly on the move , leapfrogging each other , making it difficult to get close . Tried taking the direct route back but regretted doing so half way when it was too late to matter .

Impressive tally, Adrian! I was out there this afternoon but only counted eight.

My target species was shorelark - but no luck on that.

You're right - the terrain takes a bit of getting used to, especially in winter.

Another dawn walk on the outer dune area atCleethorpes , near to ‘the shipwreck’ revealed 2 flocks of Snow Bunting flitting over the marshground , at times combining to form a group of 80 + . Pleased I am now more familiar with the terrain as some areas the muddy surface is very soft , always best kept to the hardened paths .
