Can anyone help me out with this Cleethorpes country park grebe ID query please?

I have it down provisionally, suspiciously and cautiously as red-necked, but without any conviction. I need some expertise from elsewhere..

It was just before dusk so light was poor and the bird was mostly in shadow and hidden among reeds.

(Under no circumstances will I accept Little Grebe as a reply! This would only make me look foolish!)

* Also present were three goldeneye and a kingfisher. I'm comfortable with them.
