Cleethorpes purple sandpiper

Purple sandpiper showing well on/ near Cleethorpes whaletail rock armour shortly before high tide between 11.45am - 12.45pm today.
(Forgive quality of pix - conditions were dire!)

Other abundant waders included knot, sanderling, turnstone and bar-tailed godwit. Didn't see any redshank or curlew.

Also, there was a herring gull which had lost its right foot. It was coping in the strong northerly but had to land on the sand very gingerly in order to keep its balance
