Great white egret in flight 20ft over Cleethorpes Country Park lake at 10am today. First time I’ve seen the species in Cleethorpes.

Mistle thrush in flight over Cleethorpes golf course. On one of the greens, a windblown fallen brown leaf was pretending to be a wryneck.

At Buck Beck outfall, there was a great spotted woodpecker calling from top of dead tree on the mound.

In nearby reedbed, a warbler was singing from deep within the sedges. Not reed, sedge or whitethroat, and I think it was probably Cetti’s, though not nearly as dynamic as in spring. Spent half an hour listening close-up, but it never showed itself.

At Tetney marshes there was a Marsh harrier. Also two redshank and one very pale-looking greenshank plus two teal..
