Pretty remarkable, and good to see them in colourful plumage

He’s back this morning and brought one of his mates with him! I have watched this field from my back bedroom window nigh on 10 years now, and I have seen all manner of waders here, at one time counting 34 curlew. This is the first time I have ever seen a black tailed godwit, let alone two at once.

Had this little fellow drop in to Havelock school field today with all the guls, during the windy conditions. Eventually chased off by a couple of magpies. Watched him for a good half hour first though.
