Corn buntings and grey partridge

It seems to have been a good summer for corn buntings. Is it because more barley seems to have been planted this year?

Early morning along the Blue stone Heath Rd at TF28/38
At least 10 singing corn buntings plus skylarks, linnets and yellowhammers - a marvellous, nostalgic sound. Also single grey partridge over, plus a pair ( no young) along Hallington Rd. mid afternoon.
Probable quail calling near Driby (heard from car)
