One yellow wagtail and a group of house martins in flight past leisure centre this morning. Two brent geese on the mudflats.

On the saltmarsh (now marshy again after extra-high tide activity over the past 24 hours) were one wheatear plus a few carrion crows, magpies, meadow pipits, reed buntings and linnets; also numerous singing skylarks.

Extremely active on the tideline were a minimum of 16 sanderling (none in breeding plumage).

Two female wheatears this morning on Cleethorpes saltmarsh (which is no longer very marshy).

2020 has been an extended spring passage season for this migrant.

In country park, there was a talented whitethroat - singing in flight while holding a beakful of nesting material. Not quite sure how it managed this seemingly impossible feat.
