I think you will find that the white are filoplumes that they develop prior to breeding although sometimes they can look like a continental cormorant. There are 10 or so similar ones at Messingham

I saw what looked like the same bird between the sluice gates at Tetney on Tuesday 4th March. I managed a photo but not sure how to submit these anymore!!

White-necked cormorant was created by Jim Wright
Interestingly-plumaged cormorant on lake at Cleethorpes country park at 2pm today. Unfortunately, I only had a pocket camera so didn't get much of a shot, especially in poor light.
When I returned with better optics a couple of hours later, it had gone.
However, the waxwing more than compensated.
Also, there was a female/juvenile goldeneye present - first I have seen here this winter.
