The Black Guillemot appeared again at Cut End, viewed from the hide, at 09.50. High tide was at 09.11. It was extremely mobile and flew up the tidal Witham a long way back towards the car park at Cut End. A large ship plus pilot boat then came through an disturbed it again. It flew further upriver, around 1/4 mile up from the car park before turning tail and flying back down river out of sight.
Some decent photographs were obtained despite the extremely hypothermic conditions. Thanks once again to the diligence of Dave Roberts for finding it, the first record since 2006.
