47 curlew on sand/ mud off leisure centre at 1pm today.

On rock armour whale’s tail off North Prom, 56 herring gulls were preening and four redshank were snoozing. Feeding on the beach nearby were six turnstones and, on the sea, numerous gulls of four species. There have been reports of a purple sandpiper in this area over the past month, but I’ve not managed to detect it.

On lake in country park, there were 20+ coot, 6 tufted duck and one g-c grebe.
