They have been at the boating lake for years. As soon as the weather turns warm they pop out onto the banks to sun themselves. There is a soft shell and one with a hole in its shell too. They seem to thrive.

Unfortunately there are quite a few in the Boating Lake. Bad news

Surprised to see this critter - an introduced species - sunning itself at Cleethorpes Boating Lake today.

Elsewehere, on/near the outer beach were nine ringed plover and one wheatear.

Knot were performing spectacular aerial acrobatics in the sunshine
