A new site tick today in the form of a pair of Little Egrets actively feeding.
I could only locate 1 of the pair of LRPs today.

Hi John... yes it is open. I guess the signs are there to limit potential disturbance to the site.

Most of the site is now bare soil with the grass that was on the north side of the ‘Long Path’ , having died off. It is all still very dry apart from the lagoon into which water has been pumped, near the hide. Obviously the site is not yet finished and until it is reseeded in the autumn and the cattle are introduced, I don’t expect many birds will be attracted.
However a pair of LRP are still around, c150 Gulls (Herring and LBB mostly], Lapwing , Shelduck 12, Reed Bunting, Yellowhammers, Sky Larks, Goldfinches, Pied Wags, Buzzard over (mobbed by a plucky Swallow!), Stock Doves2.
