On 2 private sites flocks of around 30+ are normal and there have at times been well in excess of 50. Both sites on farmland in North Lincolnshire

Over the past 10 days, yellowhammers (and linnets) have been feasting on the grass seed that has been scattered on the seawall between Humberston and Tetney during re-grassing work by the Environment Agency . Sadly, there has no been replacement of the adjacent hawthorn hedgerow which was taken out in autumn .

Reliable birding friend has just reported 26 yellow hammers eating their grass seed around midday in a garden along Ludborough Rd. North Thoresby
