Simon Davey the chair of Wilsford Parish Council has been in touch with a request for assistance. The parish council has recently acquired a half acre of scrub and relict limestone grassland with a quarry face, on Heath Lane Wilsford as a community nature reserve. They would welcome some expert voluntary input from a birder who can advise them how they might manage the site to get the most out of it for birds and other natural history. They would also like some surveys doing of the site and local area so they know what they've got before they decide how to proceed. Visits in Nov/Dec, Jan/Feb, Apr, May and June should give a good idea of what birds are present in winter and the breeding season. If anyone would like to take this on please get in touch with me on chairman@lincsbirdclub.co.uk and I will pass on Simon's details and some more information on the site
