Hello Jim,
At least you took the trouble to reply unlike others, so thanks.
I wouldn't want anyone getting in to trouble on my behalf so I've decided to withdraw my question!
I have thought of another way which won't involve the LBC.
You can lock the thread if you will please.

It’s perhaps not appropriate for members to respond on this website to questions about the welfare of other members. Obviously John’s sentiment is expressed out of kind-hearted consideration, but there is an issue of confidentiality/ privacy.

Re the lost facility to send private messages, I have heard several members express similar disappointment. Possibly technical difficulties are to blame. And new data protection regulations might now also come into the equation.

Perhaps someone in the know could explain the situation. If not, I’ll ask the question at the next committee meeting (in early October)
