Word is that the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust has resumed management of Killingholme Haven pits.

if so, this is good news given the site’s importance to wetland birds such as Avocet and Black-tailed Godwit.

The trust is understood to have signed an agreement with landowner Able UK.

Work is due to start tomorrow on clearing the islands and encroaching vegetation in preparation for the breeding season.
