All are reminded of the club's annual meeting to be held at the education centre at Whisby Nature Park , near Lincoln, at 2pm on Saturday March 15.

Guest Conor Jameson will give a talk on the life and times of the early 20th Century naturalist W. H. Hudson who campaigned tirelessly for bird protection in an era when many species were ruthlessly persecuted or exploited .

Along the way, Hudson upset many people - including the great and the good of the ornithological world - but, thanks to perseverance, he won more battles than he lost.

It should be a fascinating afternoon.
