Eric Morecambe's spotting scope up for grabs was created by Jim Wright
The spotting scope owned by birdwatcher-comedian Eric Morecambe (of Morecambe and Wise fame) is set to be sold at auction in the New Year. Also included in the sale are his binoculars and his modest library of ornithological titles (including a well-thumbed copy of The Observer's Book of British Birds).
His favourite bird, incidentally, was the Great Crested Grebe.
