LOL
Once upon a time there was two birders and a male sheep and its mates, I'd parked off the road close to where they were eating then my pal and I set up the scopes to see if any raptors about, then as I shut the boot to sit in car the male sheep wandered over, it seemed quite friendly at first so I didn't take much notice so got my snap and flask out and started having my sarnies, I thought my pal had gone for a walk as he normally does. Anyway I tucked in to my sarnies and this sheep (The Boss) came to the door I started chatting to it as you do but instead of it going away it got a bit too friendly I shouted my pal but there was no answer, oh hell I thought, I tried shutting the door but couldn't as by now it was trying to get in, I started to panic thinking it was either going to pinch my lunch or butt me.
Anyway I told it to go away but didn't use those words, then my pal started laughing so I said what the bloody hell are you laughing at get the damn thing away, I got out car and kept waving it to go and then it got fruity and my pal was peeing himself laughing and even worse was taking pics of my plight!
The Boss sheep tried snapping at my sarnies and almost did me a mischief cos I was holding them close to my waist, you can imagine the pics that my pal took of me and The Boss in a compromising position, I opened my snap box and threw the damn sarnies where the other sheep were stood laughing and all hell broke loose where they tucked in to my lunch. Told my pal he was great help in my hour of need, he sent me some pics and of course I had a good laugh.
So there you are, decided not to visit Barden Moor again, just in case LOL

I may have an exclusive surname but very sadly when am gone that's the end of the line, none of my dad's brothers had boys that had any boys themselves, they all had girls. I wasn't able to have kids through no fault of my own, sad.
Just read first few lines of Peter's book on Merlins and he mentions Barden Moor and spending time there as a teenager that he first saw a Merlin, this reminds me of a funny true story while I was there with a pal looking for raptors etc having just been to Bolton Abbey and the Strid. Unfortunately I'd best not tell the tale on here as it's a bit rum, don't want to upset anyone![:) :)]()
The book looks as if it was a self publish one, it says published by Tarnmoor 2005 and to order copies contact author at given address/telephone/email sometimes as you know its the only way to get published.

No relation as far as i know, Max, but there are loads of Wrights. Unlike you, I don't have an exclusive surname.
The book looks a bit special. I bet it was published in short run and will be a much sought after classic in years to come.

£30 hammer price for book signed by author Peter Scott was created by Jim Wright
A somewhat well-fingered copy of Wild Geese and Eskimos sold for £30 at an auction conducted by John Taylors of Louth earlier today. It seems a lot but it had the benefit of having been signed by the acclaimed author (and illustrator), Peter Scott.
