Many people read Steve Lorand's daily reports from Donna Nook and will have missed them over the last couple of months. Steve's been having a bad time and I called to see him this morning and he asked me to share the following. Sadly his wife of 52 years, Val, was diagnosed with cancer 5 weeks ago and died at home 2 weeks ago. This sudden tragedy obviously came as a complete shock which was exacerbated by the fact he had a hip replacement operation a couple of months ago and has been slowly recovering but still cannot walk far without a crutch, cannot drive and will not be about for some weeks yet. He is effectively house and garden bound but has had great support from family, friends and the community in North Somercotes. He was only able to sit at his computer for the first time yesterday and he is currently preparing for Val's funeral which will be at Grimsby Crematorium on Wednesday 18th April at 12.20.

He is finding it difficult to come to terms with his new situation and would be happy for anyone who knows him, to drop in for a chat if they are passing by.
