Among the  welcome attendees at last Saturday's annual meeting of the Lincs Bird Club was our president, Ian Newton, who is putting the finishing touch to his latest book, an in-depth study of the Bullfinch.

Many of Prof Newton's previous books have been published by the Collins New Naturalist series, the most recent in 2020 having been Uplands and  Birds

But Collins is no longer publishing monographs on individual species so Ian is in talks with  another publishing house.

Interestingly his Bullfinch research dates back more than 50 years when he studied the species as postgraduate.

Many thanks to all those others who attended Saturday' AGM: Andy Sims, Chris Good, Chris Grimshaw, Vin Fleming Own Beaumont, Liam Andrews, Graham Catley, Phil Hyde, Nicky Clarkson, Gary Fenwick, Barrie Hunt, Joshua Sollitt, Terry Whalin, Pete Locking, Phil Espin, Jon Cooper, Steve Lovell, Mike Harrison (and possibly a few more whose names may inadvertently have been missed off the attendance list).
