In view of recent comments on the Forum re the validity of sightings that are questioned by some members can I make a suggestion.  Before doing so I appreciate that it would create extra work for Chris.  To avoid rumour and speculation, would it not be possible to name the originator of who made the sightings.  For records to be of any value to the County Recorder this would be most helpful.

Another suggestion would be to put the initials of each person's sightings on Chris's page instead of the full name, all recorders are named in the back of each yearly report and each have their initials in brackets so am sure this can be done without to much extra work for him, on an average day there isn't more than a dozen reports from sites, someday's there are only two or three reports on Chris's page.

I cannot make sense why it is perfectly fine for the forum members to be named with their sightings (no probs from me) but those who have sightings on Chris's page remain anonymous to the forum members but I assume not the same with admin, why?  They know who they are but the forum members do not and it seems very unfair!

If Chris doesn't want to put the names or initials on each site then how about as example the 13 Red Kites when they appear in the enewsletter put the name or initial of person seeing them next to the sighting.

Regards

I fully agree as the well known respected birder if it is the person I suspect carries a reputation of being alone when all the more rare birds are seen.
