Poor thing.  :(

Often wondered who to contact if I came across a wounded bird or animal?

The perils of overhead power lines are underlined by an incident which is believed to have occurred earlier this week at West Halton, near Scunthorpe.

A whooper swan was found in a distressed state - and unable to  walk   in a field directly under a length of unmarked line.

A volunteer from Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue charity took the bird to a vet where it had to be put down after an x-ray revealed it had sustained a fractured pelvis.

It does somewhat beg the question why the wetland bird mitigation site was developed under similar power lines at Cress Marsh near Stallingborough - and what might be the impact of National Grid’s proposed stretch of cables through much of Lincolnshire.
