Tried logging in to my X (Twitter account) but for some reason couldn't, if I manage to access it I will let the forum know who the  well respected birder is and see if I was right about their identity.

Regards
Max

Why can't you tell us their name? When the forum members who are also LBC members post anything there name shows up next to the sighting. So what is so special about this well respected birder that they are allowed to keep their name secret, didn't realise the club had a secret society within. Any way am not that bothered cos have got a good idea who it is and I'll keep that to myself.

This topic is being moved to the Chat section as it does not contain any sighting information.
With regards to the Kite sighting: it was reported on X(Twitter) by a well respected birder.

Just remembered, was it last year or year before that someone had a odd sighting at MSQ which Alan brought up on here and I added my five pennorth, Chris you put it on your sightings page and all hell broke loose, on that occasion I think the birder remained silent.

So maybe that birder may have been to MSQ again and seen the 13 Red Kite etc, just a suggestion!  The bird is quite identifiable so how someone can mistake it is a mystery! They were probably my Buzzards from the Undisclosed area of North Lincs. ;)

Hi Chris,
Thanks for reply. My first ever Red Kite in Lincs was at a secret location at the time cos we was on private land , not summat I was happy to do but was eager to see one. It was a small wood just outside Blatherwyke and we had about six plus a big bunch c500 Chaffinches etc. In later years my go to place for Red Kite and Goshawk plus other raptors was over the Humber towards North Cave/Wolds Way rarely was disappointed, hoping to see some raptors in early April, a friend is taking me to North Cave Wetlands Field Event.

Am not that bothered about seeing the Cranes, I would rather see a mechanical crane be it a tower, mobile or crawler one.

Before I read this post I noticed you had replied to my Local patch etc but not sure what it means, unless it's connected to Alan's post that I gave my POV.

Cheers
Max
