Belinda Hicks of  the West Grantham Academy Church Of England School has been in touch as follows:

"As part of our curriculum we offer an Enrichment activity on Friday mornings .This is where we offer something outside  students' normal everyday experiences.

"I run a RSPB group, the students feed the birds, learn about them and make their own bird food etc. We have just recently installed a bird box and a camera .

"We are trying to engage our students in nature and the wider world.

"I was wondering if you had any members in the Grantham area who would be as kind to volunteer to come and talk to my students about garden birds in this area. Maybe for an hour or so ?"

Any takers?

This is just the sort of opportunity that we ought to be grasping to encourage young people.

If any LBC member - or maybe a couple of members jointly  -would like to give a talk to the pupils, shout out and I will put you in touch with Belinda.
