Foreman’s grain merchants in Theddlethorpe sell a variety of pet, chicken and bird foods
their premium 20 kg bags of bird food was 16£ a bag last year and has a good variety of seeds with little wheat.
Their fat balls are a tad expensive compared with a shop in Mablethorpe

On advice from a member I started buy Wilko's bird food over a year ago, be it fat balls, sunflower hearts, black sunflower seeds, peanuts etc but this year had difficulty getting it from and wondered why until last week when I got an email saying administration had been called in and a letter from their CEO explaining why.

A good few months ago needed sunflower hearts so when Wilko hadn't any in stock went to my favourite "go to place" Amazon and I dropped lucky that time as they were selling Wilko 12.75 kilo bags at a reduced price so I got two with free delivery. If I'd been able to get them at Wilko standard delivery would have been £4.95 and next day delivery was £8.95 which I paid either depending on how quick the birds needed it, at that time I had no idea Amazon sold Wilko bird food.

I would doubt Wilkos seed came from Vine House unless they got a good deal as I consider the latter very expensive and would never buy from them, others will probably disagree.

Another make I buy is Maltby's which is nearly local in Hull. Another I often buy is Johnston & Jeff also closeby just over the bridge.

I've been feeding garden birds thirty years and no matter which make of food I buy unless its been very cheap (only make this mistake once) the birds always take to it eventually birds aren't fussy in my experience food is food especially in winter.

Anyone know who was the supplier to Wilko? Might it have been Haiths or Vine House Farm?
