a 4 hours wander around  the c 1000 acre site with an old friend  starting from the small woodland car park near Roydon 

Odonata sightings included, 
keeled and, black tailed skimmers, broad bodied chaser , black darter, common darter  ,brown hawker, emperor,
willow emerald,  banded demoiseselle  .

butterflies included 
silver washed frittillary, brimstone, grayling, peacock, red admiral, purple hairstreak, holly blue, small copper,
brown argus, large white, comma, small skipper, speckled wood, white admiral.

Many of the ponds i remember form a visit c12 years ago are now grown over  so no raft spiders seen on the small pools surveyed .
