Perhaps, we were  too early for them!

No black-throated divers were to be seen at Lochindorb during Monday's hour-long visit by a party from Lincolnshire Bird Club.

They might have been elsewhere on the water, though Terry Whalin's theory was that the birds might  not yet have returned from their winter sojourn at sea.

The most conspicuous birds on site were goldeneye, mallard, red grouse, wheatears and meadow pipits, but red squirrels were also seen.
