Hi Chris, if you put one for each you wouldn't be far out in the grand scheme statistically. As in your own garden, without being able to identify individual birds, you only see a max of 2 blue tits or great tits but feel there maybe 2 to 3 pairs of each visiting the feeders, and the same with finches. The same with Starlings, Jackdaws and doves any number between 2 and 6 wouldn't be far out and would make little difference statistically to the county record. These birds are mostly around on and off all the time but because we had well over 20 species that day I thought I'd put it on the forum just for general interest rather than scientific statistical interest.
