There was a well-deserved round of applause at today's LBC annual meeting for John Watt who has stepped down as treasurer after 15 years' service.

Club chairman Phil Espin thanked John both for his wise and good-humoured contributions to the affairs of the club, particularly at committee meetings, and for his scrupulously diligent stewardship of the club's finances which are probably as healthy now as they have ever been.

In a short but amusing response, John, who has also long  been a stalwart of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust,  said it was a pleasure to have served on the committee.

Over the past couple of months, John has been liaising with Jon Cooper who has kindly (and valiantly) volunteered to take over as treasurer. He was elected unanimously at this afternoon's meeting.
