From the September, 1884, edition of The Naturalist magazine

Among some birds lately received for preservation by Mr. Barber, of Sincil Street, Lincoln, are two specimens of the Thick-Kneed Bustard or Thick-Knee which had been trapped a short while ago in a rabbit warren near Gainsborough.

Another in the collection is a specimen of Temminck's Stint which was killed near Lincoln after flying against the telegraph wires.

These incidents are perhaps worth recording.
