People regularly get stuck in  mud while attempting to cross the saltmarsh in Cleethorpes.

I think the best advice is to remove and carry footwear, take small steps and lean forward - it seems to do the trick.

There is also a beneficial side-effect - wading in mud is said to work wonders for wellbeing and complexion.

As he was much nearer the water it must have been much more frightening for him than for me. It was just the unexpectedness of events and the long wait for assistance that rattled me somewhat. I never felt in danger but dread to think what would have happened to him if I hadn't been in the vicinity

Another first class newsletter and in particular the warning from Chris about potential dangerous situations. Glad it all turned out for the best but it must have been very frightening, thanks for the warning.
