Usually there are up to 100 ( sometimes more)  grey lag geese at Cleethorpes boating lake but at 9am today I counted just one. The water was almost birdless apart from three cormorants plus a few moorhens and hybrid mallard. There was also a b-h gull which seemed already to be coming into next year's breeding plumage.
