Thanks for that tip, Pete. I aim to catch up with it. In this country (but not the USA), birding is predominantly a male-dominated activity, so it’s always worthwhile to get the female perspective.

Just read Birdgirl by Mya-Rose Craig and would recommend to all bird club members. It's insightful, honest and eloquently describes why us birders do what we do! It's well written, and for me, a page turner. One of the best books I've read.
